Your Pathway from Community Knowledge to Recognized Research

Welcome to the core of the Axis Academic Alliance & Advancement (AAA) mission. This page details our unique, ethical, and transparent process designed to transform your community experience into a formal, published case study.

Our process is built on a strategic partnership with leading academic journals and adheres strictly to the highest standards of non-profit integrity and academic publishing ethics.

The AAA Research Incubation Pipeline: From Idea to Manuscript

All community research begins with our structured 5-stage incubation pipeline, designed to support you from the initial idea to a submission-ready manuscript.

A. Ideation & Partnership: Start by attending one of our free online workshops or submitting an Experience Discovery Worksheet. We help you identify a clear, research-worthy experience from your work.

B. Shaping & Design: Our mentors will guide you in framing your experience into a structured research question and methodology using our Research Blueprint Canvas.

C. Ethical Documentation: We provide templates and training to help you collect information (interviews, observations) ethically, ensuring informed consent and participant confidentiality.

D. Analysis & Storytelling: You’ll be supported in analyzing your findings and crafting a compelling narrative using our Findings Narrative Template.

E. Co-Authorship & Preparation: We facilitate clear co-authorship agreements among contributors and help you format the final manuscript according to journal standards.

The Voucher & Priority Publication Pathway

Upon successful completion of our incubation pipeline and approval by the AAA Community Research Editorial Committee, your project becomes eligible for our exclusive publication pathway.

What the Voucher Provides:

  • Formal Endorsement: Your manuscript receives a formal endorsement from AAA, confirming it has been incubated and meets our ethical and methodological standards.

  • Priority Submission: Endorsed manuscripts are submitted for priority consideration to our partner journals listed on The Journals page.

  • Expedited Editorial Handling: The journal’s editorial office is notified to expedite the initial screening and assignment for peer review.

  • Subsidized Publication Fee: If accepted, you benefit from a special subsidized Article Processing Charge (APC). This is a significantly reduced fee negotiated by AAA as part of our partnership.

How the Process Works:

  1. Complete the AAA incubation pipeline.

  2. Receive a unique Voucher Code and submission instructions from AAA.

  3. Submit your manuscript to the designated journal portal using the voucher code.

  4. The journal’s independent editorial team manages the peer-review process.

  5. If accepted, you pay the subsidized APC directly to the journal publisherAAA does not handle or collect any publication fees.

Community Case Studies: Our Preferred Publication Format

We specialize in preparing Community Case Studies. This format is ideal for documenting and analyzing a specific situation, intervention, or experience within a community to derive lessons for practice and policy.

A Typical Case Study Structure Includes:

  • Abstract: A brief summary of the community, the challenge, and key findings.

  • Introduction: Background on the community and the significance of the issue.

  • Case Description: A detailed, chronological narrative of what happened.

  • Methods: How information was gathered and analyzed ethically.

  • Findings & Analysis: What was learned and why it matters.

  • Discussion & Recommendations: Implications for similar communities and stakeholders.

  • Acknowledgments & Ethics Statement: Recognizing contributors and confirming ethical compliance.

Submission Guidelines & Our Ethical Commitments

Before Submission, Ensure Your Manuscript:

  • Aligns with the aims and scope of the target journal (e.g., community-focused work for ACRJ).

  • Has been reviewed and endorsed by the AAA Editorial Committee.

  • Includes all necessary ethical statements (informed consent, approval if applicable).

  • Lists all contributors correctly, with their consent.

  • Is original work and does not violate any copyright.

Our Core Ethical Guarantees to You:

  • Equity, Not Extraction: You are the owner of your knowledge. We act as facilitators, not data extractors.

  • Transparent Partnership: Our legal and financial separation from the journal publisher is clear. We advocate for you, but the journal makes the final publication decision.

  • Credit Follows Contribution: We insist on ethical authorship, ensuring all key community contributors are recognized appropriately.

  • Benefit is Circular: Our goal is for the research to create tangible benefits for your community, through advocacy, practice change, or capacity building.
